Your responsibilities will encompass the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, such as appendicitis, fecal incontinence, hemorrhoids, liver diseases, and pancreatic disorders. You will perform endoscopic procedures and consult with patients and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes. The practice utilizes Cerner EMR for efficient documentation and patient management.

Gastroenterologist (GI Physician) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal, liver, and pancreatic disorders in both clinic and hospital settings
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper GI endoscopies
- Consult with patients and their families to discuss diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing management plans
- Provide inpatient care including hospital consults, follow-up visits, and coordination with hospital nursing staff
- Work collaboratively with nurses, certified medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Document all patient encounters and procedures accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
- Participate in call rotation as needed to provide timely, effective coverage for patients
- Support the transition of care for patients from inpatient to outpatient settings
- Stay current with advances in gastroenterology through continuing medical education opportunities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of a gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Gastroenterology
- Current, unrestricted medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Strong clinical skills in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal diseases
- Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
