Gastroenterologist (GI) - Summary
- Role: Gastroenterologist (GI)
- Location: Poplar Bluff, Missouri
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Practice Setting: Outpatient-focused, integrated health system
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Support: Strong nursing and administrative team
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct GI consultations, evaluations, and follow-up visits for a diverse patient population
- Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions, including chronic liver disease, hepatitis C, and general GI disorders
- Perform standard GI procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, PEG placement, and paracentesis
- Administer conscious sedation during procedures as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Support inpatient consultative GI services as needed
- Participate in quality improvement and process optimization initiatives
- Average clinic volume: 10-14 patients per day
- Average procedure volume: 6-8 procedures per dedicated procedure day
- No advanced endoscopy or ERCP required

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
- Eligible for DEA registration
