Furniture Installer - Summary
- Responsible for the installation, assembly, and fine-tuning of modular and freestanding furniture systems.
- Works with a variety of furniture products, interpreting and following installation drawings and blueprints.
- Collaborates with team members and supervisors to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality installations that meet client expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and assemble modular and freestanding furniture according to manufacturer instructions.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and occasional transportation of furniture to and from job sites.
- Interpret and follow detailed installation drawings, blueprints, and design specifications to ensure accurate placement and assembly of furniture components.
- Develop and reference product lists from blueprints to facilitate complete installations.
- Perform fine-tuning tasks such as cleaning, wiping down, and leveling furniture to achieve a finished, professional appearance.
- Follow instructions from Lead Installer and Supervisor regarding loading, transport, staging, stripping, assembling, and movement of furniture pieces.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and manufacturer specifications throughout the installation process.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; additional related experience or vocational training is highly valued.
- One to three years of experience in furniture installation or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- General knowledge of Steelcase product lines and installation procedures is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools required for furniture assembly and installation.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret installation drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Must have reliable transportation to access various project sites as needed.
- Experience with wall-mount applications, including whiteboards, overheads, and wall starts, is advantageous.
