Furniture Installer - Summary
- Receive, unload, and install both modular systems furniture and freestanding furniture components.
- Ensure timely, accurate installations in compliance with product specifications and customer requirements.
- Interpret detailed installation blueprints and drawings to guide the assembly and placement of office furniture systems.
- Work as part of a team led by a Lead Installer or Supervisor to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of furniture to various job sites as needed.
- Assemble and install furniture, including both modular and freestanding units, following manufacturers' guidelines and design specifications.
- Identify necessary products and materials required to complete installation projects by reviewing blueprints and installation drawings.
- Fine-tune installed furniture by cleaning, leveling, and making necessary adjustments for optimal appearance and function.
- Take direction from the Lead Installer and Supervisor regarding all aspects of furniture handling, staging, assembly, and final placement.
- Perform wall mount applications such as installing whiteboards, overheads, and wall starts.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to all safety protocols during installation processes.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- One to three years of related experience and/or training in furniture installation preferred.
- General knowledge of major furniture product lines, including Steelcase, is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools specified for furniture assembly.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret installation drawings and blueprints.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for travel between job sites.
- Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, carry up to 50 pounds, and move furniture safely within and between buildings.
- Capable of mounting and dismounting vehicles, walking on ramps, and working in various physical environments.
