Business Systems Analyst (BSA) - Summary
- Serve as a vital link between business stakeholders and technical teams to drive digital product initiatives.
- Facilitate the collection, analysis, and documentation of business and functional requirements for diverse technology projects.
- Translate complex business needs into well-structured functional specifications and user stories.
- Identify project risks, gaps, and dependencies, ensuring successful and timely product delivery.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, supporting effective project planning, prioritization, and delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document comprehensive business and functional requirements in collaboration with business users and technical teams.
- Convert business requirements into detailed functional specifications and clear user stories for development teams.
- Conduct gap analysis to identify and address any discrepancies between business needs and existing system capabilities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and QA professionals to ensure requirements are understood, prioritized, and delivered effectively.
- Support backlog grooming and prioritization activities, helping teams maintain focus on the most valuable features and enhancements.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to support team alignment and continuous improvement.
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing test cases, tracking defects, and working with stakeholders to resolve issues using tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements
- 3-5 years of proven experience in a Business Systems Analyst (BSA), Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Consultant role supporting technology or digital products.
- In-depth understanding of product functionality, business processes, and technology solutions within the public sector or enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including user story creation, acceptance criteria definition, sprint ceremonies, and backlog refinement.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product Managers, Developers, and QA teams.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
