Forklift Operator Job OverviewCoast Personnel Services is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as Forklift Operators in Durham, NC on a full-time basis. This position is ideal for candidates with prior experience operating forklifts or tuggers who are looking to contribute to a dynamic and growing company. The Forklift Operator role plays a key part in ensuring efficient material handling and supporting daily warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate forklifts and tuggers to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count materials within the warehouse or production facility.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and pallets in accordance with company and safety standards.
- Ensure accurate picking, staging, and storage of materials and products, maintaining proper documentation for inventory management.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure a seamless workflow and meet production or shipping deadlines.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces to support safety and efficiency in the facility.
- Adhere to all established safety protocols and company policies while operating heavy machinery.
- Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as required by management.
- Support other general warehouse duties as assigned, including packaging, labeling, and material checks.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts and/or tuggers in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and company policies.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately document materials movement and inventory counts.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Physical capability to lift, carry, and move materials as required by the position, and to remain on feet for extended periods.
- Willingness to work full-time hours, including potential for overtime as business needs require.
- Valid forklift operator certification is preferred and may be required, depending on company and regulatory standards.
- Commitment to completing any required company-sponsored training and maintaining up-to-date safety certifications.
