Forklift Operator Job DescriptionThe Forklift Operator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse and stockroom activities. This full-time position is essential for maintaining efficient inventory management and supporting overall supply chain processes. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, identifying, and putting away materials, as well as ensuring the correct flow of goods within the facility. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to established procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and timely order fulfillment.
Responsibilities- Regularly verify that materials received from inspection are properly identified, labeled, and stored in the appropriate stockroom locations.
- Complete all necessary inventory transactions using tracking systems, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct shortage audits and replace parts as needed on work orders during restocking processes.
- Follow First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures when managing and receiving materials to ensure proper inventory rotation and minimize waste.
- Pull and issue parts from stock according to work order requirements, supporting production and assembly operations.
- Participate in training on the Oracle data entry system to process inventory transactions, research discrepancies, and assist in troubleshooting issues during restocking and kitting operations.
- At least one year of experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or related environment is required for the Forklift Operator role.
- Strong math skills are necessary to perform inventory tasks and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Ability to identify various electronic components is preferred, enhancing the accuracy of inventory management.
- Keen attention to detail, with the ability to read and understand instructions and relay information accurately.
- Demonstrated team player with a reliable attendance record and punctuality.
- Willingness to be flexible with work hours and to work extended hours as required to meet operational demands.
