The Food Production Mixer plays a vital role in food manufacturing by ensuring that all ingredients are accurately mixed according to precise production formulas and established company standards. This position is fundamental to maintaining the high quality of food products, supporting the efficiency of the production process, and adhering to all relevant food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Food Production Mixer is responsible for operating and maintaining mixing equipment, monitoring batch consistency, and collaborating closely with other production staff to meet production goals within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As a Food Production Mixer, you will be tasked with reading and interpreting batch sheets, recipes, and production formulas to guarantee that all mixtures are prepared to exact specifications. This includes measuring, weighing, and combining ingredients in the correct order and quantity, as well as overseeing mixing times and temperatures to achieve the desired product consistency. Your attention to detail will ensure that all raw materials meet quality requirements before use, and you will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of each batch produced.
Safety is a top priority in this role. The Food Production Mixer must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) protocols, and all food safety regulations at all times. The role also involves physical activity, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, pushing, pulling, and working in environments that may be hot, cold, or noisy. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, and safety gear is mandatory to ensure personal and product safety.
Candidates with previous experience in food manufacturing or operating industrial mixers are highly valued, though a high school diploma or GED is only preferred, not required. Strong basic math skills, the ability to read and understand production instructions, and a commitment to quality control are essential.
