Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU, PCU, MS Tele Summary
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical Telemetry units.
- Function as a flexible and reliable member of the float pool, adapting to a variety of clinical environments as needed.
- Ensure patient safety, deliver evidence-based care, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions in ICU, PCU, and MS Tele units.
- Monitor patient progress, administer medications, perform interventions, and document all care in accordance with hospital policies.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on health management, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide crisis intervention and utilize de-escalation techniques as needed to maintain a safe care environment.
- Serve as a resource to peers and assist with orientation of new nursing staff.
- Comply with all regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and ethical standards of practice.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active, unrestricted California RN license required.
- Minimum of two years of acute care nursing experience in ICU, PCU, or MS Tele settings.
- Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification, with initial certification provided at the first available hospital training class.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced clinical environments.
