Fleet Safety Manager - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with FMCSA, OSHA, and DOT requirements.
- Develop and conduct ongoing training and coaching sessions for drivers, operations staff, and managers.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, perform root cause analysis, and establish corrective action plans.
- Lead regular safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance inspections.
- Provide hands-on training for vehicle inspections, load securement, and safe maneuvering techniques.
- Oversee driver qualification files, hours of service logs, and DOT drug/alcohol compliance records.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety standards.
- Liaise with insurance providers and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance and risk mitigation.
- Conduct and lead weekly safety incident reviews and monthly safety meetings.
- Monitor and analyze key safety performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the transportation industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Safety Management, or related field required.
- Valid Class B CDL preferred but not mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of FMCSA, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations.
