The Firmware Engineer role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the expansion of a leading semiconductor organization’s U.S. headquarters. As part of a dynamic and rapidly growing engineering team, the Firmware Engineer will play a pivotal part in developing and optimizing DDR4 and DDR5 memory systems designed for next-generation data center platforms. This position is at the forefront of both hardware and firmware integration, offering the chance to influence key technology decisions and mentor a talented group of engineers working towards building a scalable, innovative engineering organization.
This is a foundational growth position within a company that is strategically scaling its engineering operations. With a current team of approximately 60 engineers and a roadmap to grow significantly, the Firmware Engineer will have the chance to directly shape technology direction and support the development of industry-leading products. The role is not a replacement or backfill; it is a critical hire aimed at supporting long-term advancement and technical leadership within the company.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will work at the intersection of hardware and firmware, enabling and optimizing memory components for advanced data center applications. Your responsibilities will span from hands-on register-level configuration to driving architectural decisions and mentoring junior engineers. You will also play a key role in supporting compliance with evolving JEDEC standards and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust product development and delivery.

- 4 to 12+ years of experience in firmware development, ideally at Senior to Staff levels.
- Strong proficiency in C and C++ for low-level development; experience with Python for scripting and automation.
- Deep technical understanding of DDR4 and DDR5 memory systems, including register-level work.
- Familiarity with RCD, Data Buffers (DB), and PMIC integration in hardware and firmware contexts.
- Demonstrated ability to work at both the register and system level.
- Ability to balance hands-on coding responsibilities with architectural influence and mentorship.
- Experienced firmware engineer with a proven record of developing and optimizing memory subsystems.
- Comfortable working at the boundary of hardware and firmware, with a passion for innovation and technical problem-solving.
