Field Service Technician - Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical repair on a variety of industrial equipment in field environments. This role ensures equipment uptime, operational reliability, and delivers a high level of customer satisfaction through expert problem-solving and communication. The position suits individuals comfortable working independently as well as in collaborative, customer-facing situations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and battery-related equipment malfunctions at customer sites and field locations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on industrial machinery to minimize downtime and ensure safety compliance.
- Perform post-repair testing to verify operational functionality and adherence to safety standards.
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and document all corrective actions and recommendations for future prevention.
- Prepare detailed repair quotes and follow up with customers regarding service and parts needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date service documentation, including labor hours, parts usage, and repair logs, within CRM systems.
- Track maintenance records, inspection reports, and complete comprehensive service checklists for each job.
- Escalate recurring issues and equipment performance trends to leadership for process improvement and client support.
- Provide remote troubleshooting assistance via phone, email, and video platforms when necessary.
- Coordinate with warehouse and parts teams to guarantee inventory availability for timely service delivery.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support equipment evaluations and installations at customer facilities.
- Foster strong customer relationships and deliver a consistently high-quality service experience.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial equipment maintenance, repair, or field service.
- Proficient with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation accurately.
- Strong communication and customer service skills in field service settings.
- Experience using CRM systems or similar service documentation tools.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform duties in active industrial environments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
