Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
The Family Practice Physician Assistant (PA-C) serves as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing primary healthcare services under the supervision of licensed physicians. This role involves conducting patient assessments, diagnosing illnesses, developing and managing treatment plans, and offering preventive care education. The Family Practice Physician Assistant will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care while adhering to best practices and organizational protocols. Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic illnesses in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Develop, implement, and monitor patient care plans, adjusting treatments as necessary
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as laboratory work and imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Perform minor procedures and assist with in-office treatments as appropriate
- Document all patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record system
- Coordinate care with other healthcare providers, specialists, and support staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and valid Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
- Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated clinical competency in family practice or primary care settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical medical practice
