Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive outpatient healthcare services to patients across the lifespan in a primary care setting.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate patient and employee healthcare, emphasizing prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, medical directors, and multidisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care and promote positive health outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments and orientation for new patients to identify healthcare needs and recommend local providers and services as appropriate.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat chronic and acute episodic illnesses, minor injuries, and accidents in an outpatient setting.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, perform routine physical examinations (including pap tests), and provide office-based procedures within the scope of practice and available equipment.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Provide health education, facilitate support groups, and coordinate health promotional activities, such as immunization clinics and routine screenings.
- Perform staff employment physicals, TB testing, and post-accident/injury examinations as needed.
- Maintain accurate outpatient medical records, compile reports, and participate in research or quality improvement projects as required.
- Serve as a clinical resource for policy development, planning, and healthcare decision-making within the organization.
- Collaborate with staff to identify and address patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Participate in committees related to healthcare quality, patient safety, and clinic operations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and certification from an accredited organization.
- Expertise in providing primary care services to patients of all ages.
- Experience with outpatient clinical practice, including diagnosis, treatment, and health education.
