Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and obtain relevant health histories
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses across the lifespan
- Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with evidence-based guidelines
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and self-care strategies
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to coordinate care and ensure positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Engage with local schools to provide health education and outreach as needed
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives within the practice

Qualifications & Requirements
- Current and active Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in the state of New Mexico
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
