Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) - Summary
The Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic health conditions. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in accordance with regulatory guidelines and organizational standards. The position offers opportunities for clinical leadership, participation in quality improvement initiatives, and professional growth within a respected healthcare system.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive clinical care to patients, including obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies, and arranging specialty referrals as needed.
- Effectively communicate with other physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and ancillary personnel to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Demonstrate exemplary bedside manner and foster a welcoming patient experience, emphasizing empathy and clear communication.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and preventive health strategies.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic health record (EPIC) and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory documentation standards.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of acute and chronic conditions, following evidence-based protocols and AAFP clinical guidelines.
- Promote healthy lifestyle behaviors and provide preventive care to reduce the risk of illness and disease.
- Attend departmental meetings, participate in ongoing professional training, and maintain currency in relevant medical knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, including HIPAA and internal medicine regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (or Internal Medicine, as applicable).
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program.
- Active and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility) in the relevant state.
