Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) - Summary
- Deliver comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages in a community-based setting.
- Serve as a key provider in advancing the health center's mission and vision.
- Participate fully in a collaborative, patient-focused healthcare team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations of new and existing patients, determining the need for x-ray and clinical laboratory tests as appropriate.
- Interpret examination findings and test results to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prepare and review detailed case histories, obtaining relevant data through patient interviews.
- Provide continuing, comprehensive medical care to individuals and families, including preventive medicine and behavioral health.
- Oversee outpatient and inpatient care, participate in the on-call group, and direct care services as needed.
- Promote patient-centered care through a collaborative team approach focused on quality and safety.
- Participate in surgical, obstetrical, gynecological, and critical care procedures within the scope of training and ability.
- Determine when consultations are necessary and coordinate care with other specialists as required.
- Educate other healthcare providers and non-medical personnel on health-related topics, including first aid, cardiac life support, and healthcare maintenance.
- Contribute to the education of family practice residents and medical students as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
- Current license to practice medicine.
- Board certification in Family Medicine required.
- Current DEA registration.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of preventive medicine.
- Understanding of relevant state and federal regulations for community health centers.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
