Facility Maintenance Technician - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform general custodial tasks throughout offices, entranceways, hallways, restrooms, kitchens, lounges, stairwells, dorm rooms, and apartments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of building furniture, equipment, and premises for safety and presentation
- Use custodial supplies efficiently and operate various custodial equipment
- Monitor and maintain custodial inventory, place orders for supplies, and verify deliveries
- Provide routine care and maintenance for cleaning equipment
- Set up and prepare facilities for scheduled events, including overnight guest accommodations
- Perform minor repairs and report maintenance needs for specialized work
- Assist in evaluating and selecting new cleaning products and equipment
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines during maintenance and custodial work
- Communicate issues to supervisors and participate in ongoing training, seminars, and safety meetings
- Serve as essential personnel available for emergency duties and support during institutional closures

Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Up to one year of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform job duties
- Strong knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and custodial equipment
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including working from ladders and lifting equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, following both oral and written instructions
- Commitment to safety and compliance with all institutional guidelines
