Duties & Responsibilities- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, skid steers, trenchers, and other specialized equipment for construction, plumbing, and utility projects.
- Perform essential site preparation activities including trenching, grading, and backfilling to support project completion.
- Assist plumbing teams in equipment placement, material handling, and job site coordination to optimize workflow and project efficiency.
- Conduct routine pre- and post-operation inspections of all equipment, promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs to ensure operational safety and compliance.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and company procedures to maintain a secure work environment on all job sites.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and accessible.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and fellow crew members to facilitate the smooth progress of projects.
- Support field operations with general labor and related tasks when heavy equipment is not in use.

- Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment within construction, utilities, or plumbing environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating excavators and skid steers is required.
- Strong understanding of excavation safety, trenching requirements, and awareness of underground utilities.
- Ability to accurately read site plans and follow detailed layout instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Valid driver’s license required; possession of a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and job site safety protocols.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment troubleshooting is considered a plus.
- Experience working with plumbing or underground utility contractors is highly valued.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working in a variety of outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
- Comfortable climbing, bending, squatting, and maneuvering on uneven terrain as required by the job.
- Able to sit for extended periods while operating heavy machinery.
- Proactive in supporting team goals and adaptable to changing job site needs.
