The Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe operation of all equipment within a commercial laundry plant. As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and responding to urgent repair needs as they develop. This position requires a proactive approach to equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of systems such as conveyor belts, overhead rail systems, and other machinery integral to the plant’s daily operations.
Working closely with production supervisors and technical teams, the Equipment Maintenance Technician is tasked with identifying and resolving issues ranging from jams and belt problems to missing components and mechanical failures. This role demands attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The Equipment Maintenance Technician must maintain detailed and accurate maintenance logs, communicate effectively about equipment status, and adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry procedures.

Equipment Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment within a commercial laundry plant.
- Ensures efficient operation of all assigned equipment during production activities.
- Performs preventive maintenance, emergent repairs, and troubleshooting as required.
- Maintains clear and accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and systems, including conveyor and overhead rail systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions or breakdowns, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
- Monitor equipment during production, identifying and correcting problems such as jams, faulty belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams as needed to resolve complex issues.
- Assist both in-house staff and outside vendors in technical repairs and maintenance projects.
- Maintain a detailed maintenance log, recording incomplete tasks and newly identified issues.
- Communicate equipment status, production impacts, and completion of repairs to supervisors and relevant personnel.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety for yourself and those around you.
- Carry out other assigned duties as required to support plant operations.
