Equipment Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all assigned production equipment in a commercial laundry plant.
- Performs both preventative and emergent maintenance tasks as required.
- Monitors equipment performance, identifies issues quickly, and communicates with supervisors and engineering when needed.
- Supports operational continuity and workplace safety through diligent maintenance practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance activities on all assigned equipment, including mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems.
- Performs timely and high-quality repairs to ensure ongoing equipment functionality and to minimize production downtime.
- Assists technical staff and external vendors with complex maintenance or repairs when necessary.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, documenting incomplete tasks and emerging issues for tracking and resolution.
- Communicates proactively with production supervisors regarding equipment status, especially when issues impact production schedules or cause downtime, and notifies when equipment is back online.
- Identifies and resolves common equipment problems, such as jams, broken or missing machine belts, or missing ironer tape.
- Seeks technical support from the engineering department for challenging or persistent equipment problems.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned to support plant operations and team objectives.
