The Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of all assigned equipment within a commercial laundry plant. This position is responsible for performing both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergent repairs on a variety of machinery, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. The Equipment Maintenance Technician works closely with production and engineering teams to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues, such as jams, faulty or missing belts, and ironer tape problems. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, the ability to recognize potential equipment failures before they occur, and the skills necessary to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
As an Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be expected to maintain a high level of awareness regarding the condition and performance of your assigned equipment during production operations. Your responsibilities will include completing all daily maintenance tasks, documenting maintenance activities, and providing timely updates to production supervisors on equipment status. In addition to hands-on mechanical work, you will collaborate with technical personnel and external vendors as needed to ensure that repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. Adherence to strict safety protocols is essential, including understanding and implementing lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry rules, and safe practices when working with hot equipment.

Equipment Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of commercial laundry plant equipment.
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and responds to emergent repair needs.
- Ensures equipment operates efficiently and production downtime is minimized.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducts preventive maintenance activities according to schedule for all assigned equipment.
- Completes timely, quality repairs on mechanical systems including overhead rail and conveyor systems.
- Assists technical and mechanical personnel, including external vendors, as necessary.
- Maintains accurate maintenance logs, documenting incomplete tasks and new problems as they arise.
- Notifies production supervisors of equipment issues impacting operations and communicates status updates when equipment is back online.
- Identifies and corrects mechanical issues such as jams, faulty belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Follows all company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
