The Equipment Maintenance Technician is a key role responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all machinery and systems within a commercial laundry plant. This full-time position is focused on performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, addressing mechanical issues, and supporting overall plant productivity by maintaining and repairing equipment such as conveyor systems and overhead rail systems. Working closely with engineering and production teams, the Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a critical part in minimizing downtime and ensuring that daily operations run seamlessly.
In this role, the Equipment Maintenance Technician will take ownership of assigned equipment, performing preventative and emergent maintenance as needed. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and adherence to safety protocols are essential. The technician will also maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, communicate effectively with supervisors, and collaborate with other technical staff and outside vendors when required. Equipment Maintenance Technician - Summary
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial laundry plant equipment.
- Performs preventative and emergent maintenance on a range of mechanical systems.
- Works collaboratively with engineering, production supervisors, and vendors to ensure equipment efficiency.
- Maintains accurate maintenance logs and adheres to safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment within the laundry plant environment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as jams, worn or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks to minimize production downtime.
- Assist technical and mechanical personnel, including outside vendors, as necessary for complex repairs.
- Accurately document incomplete tasks and identify new problems in the maintenance log.
- Notify production supervisors of the status of equipment repairs and expected downtime or restoration of service.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with all company safety procedures, including lockout/tag out and confined space entry.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the plant.
