Equipment Maintenance Technician - Summary
The Equipment Maintenance Technician is tasked with the ongoing care and functionality of essential equipment within a commercial laundry plant. Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment, including commercial laundry machinery, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems.
- Address non-scheduled repairs and emergent issues as they arise, ensuring equipment downtime is minimized.
- Monitor the condition and operational status of machines during production operations, quickly identifying and resolving problems such as jams, damaged or missing belts, and missing ironer tape.
- Collaborate with engineering staff and technical personnel, including external vendors, to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, documenting incomplete tasks, new problems, and actions taken.
- Communicate with production supervisors regarding equipment status, especially when repairs may impact production schedules or cause downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety protocols, including lockout/tag out procedures and confined space entry guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area for self and colleagues, proactively identifying and resolving potential safety hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the operational efficiency of the laundry plant.
