The Epic Training Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the successful adoption and optimization of newly implemented Epic workflows within a leading healthcare organization. This vital position is focused on ensuring that improvements to clinical quality and workflow processes are fully embraced by providers and staff post-implementation. As the healthcare industry continues to innovate, the Epic Training Specialist serves as a key facilitator for effective change management, directly contributing to the transformation of the patient care journey from initial referral through the completion of care plans.
In this contract to hire opportunity, the Epic Training Specialist will work closely with a variety of clinical teams and regional clinics, including those located in major metropolitan areas such as Atlanta and Charlotte. The primary focus is not traditional classroom instruction, but rather hands-on, real-time support in clinical environments. The role requires approximately 25% travel to conduct site visits, facilitate workflow spot checks, and provide direct, on-the-ground feedback to providers. By integrating best practices and analyzing user adoption trends, the Epic Training Specialist ensures that new system configurations are consistently followed, ultimately boosting documentation efficiency and improving patient care outcomes.
Key to this role is the ability to close the loop after go-live periods by monitoring workflow adherence and implementing sustainable follow-up mechanisms. The Epic Training Specialist will gather feedback through post-training surveys, analyze helpdesk ticket trends, and collaborate with providers to customize documentation tools such as smart phrases. This hands-on approach enables immediate troubleshooting of workflow issues and provides tailored support to address the unique needs of each clinic. Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to gently correct provider behavior are essential, as is the resilience to navigate diverse clinical environments and varying levels of technology adoption.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in clinical IT support, healthcare training, or a relevant internship within a healthcare or Epic environment. Regional travel is a significant component of the position, requiring flexibility and a proactive mindset dedicated to long-term adoption and adherence. The Epic Training Specialist is expected to be a champion for continuous improvement, ensuring that new workflows are not only introduced effectively but also become ingrained as standard practices across all locations.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a premier healthcare organization experiencing rapid growth, committed to excellence in outpatient rehabilitation and physical therapy. By joining this team, the Epic Training Specialist will contribute directly to the organization's mission of transforming patient care and enhancing operational efficiency through technology and best practice adoption.
