The Epic Applications Analyst Lead (Prelude/Cadence), also known as Epic Analyst Lead, plays a pivotal role in supporting healthcare IT systems and electronic health records (EHR), focusing on Epic’s Patient Access Suite, including Cadence and Prelude modules. Epic Applications Analyst Lead (Prelude/Cadence) – Summary
- Technical leadership for Epic EHR applications, specializing in Prelude and Cadence.
- Mentoring and supporting teams of analysts in application configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Driving process improvements and system enhancements to support healthcare operations.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and organizational goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to Senior Epic Application Analysts and Epic Application Analysts, fostering professional development and team cohesion.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions with operational leaders, training teams, and Cogito (reporting) stakeholders to address business needs and enhance system performance.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact and subject matter expert for Epic Prelude and Cadence modules, managing projects, implementations, and escalations.
- Oversee system design, build, testing, and ongoing maintenance for Epic applications, ensuring optimal configuration and workflow efficiency.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies, such as care gaps or denials, and spearhead improvement initiatives in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Coordinate and implement system changes, upgrades, and support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage change control processes, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and contribute to strategic planning and governance activities.
- Collaborate with vendors and governance teams to ensure project milestones and business requirements are met.
- Review and update training materials and user documentation, supporting trainers in maintaining accurate and current resources.
- Stay abreast of the latest Epic system developments, EHR standards, and best practices through ongoing learning and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience supporting healthcare IT or healthcare applications, or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years of equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years in an analyst role supporting Epic EHR, specifically with the Cadence and Prelude modules.
- Current Epic Cadence and Prelude certifications required.
- Proven experience building work queues, utilizing rules, creating decision trees, and managing referrals and authorization workflows within Epic.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical support, and project management skills.
