ENT Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Summary
- Work collaboratively as a key provider in an otolaryngology/head and neck practice
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients with ear, nose, throat, and head/neck disorders
- Participate in both inpatient and outpatient care settings, supporting surgical and medical teams
- Assist with evaluations, procedures, perioperative management, and follow-up care
- Maintain professional credentials and participate in ongoing education
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist attending physicians with daily rounds, patient consults, and follow-up visits
- Perform thorough patient evaluations for thyroid and parathyroid conditions, both malignant and benign
- Identify and manage urgent and emergent ENT scenarios including angioedema, vocal cord paralysis, tracheal stenosis, and airway compromise
- Demonstrate procedural competence in ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, flexible nasopharyngolaryngoscopy, rigid nasal endoscopy, nasal debridement, control of epistaxis, nasal/oral cavity biopsy, and urgent airway assessments
- Order laboratory and radiologic tests, monitor therapy plans, and support perioperative and discharge planning
- Provide patient education on health management, medication, diet, and post-operative care
- Thoroughly document patient histories, examination findings, and care plans
- Communicate changes in patient status to supervising physicians and act as a liaison with nursing and ancillary staff
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate health facilities, agencies, and community resources as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and foster positive relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Engage in continued professional development to stay current with advances in otolaryngology and related care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program, meeting standards of the Committee on Allied Health Education and the American Medical Association Council on Medical Education
- National Certification by NCCPA required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Physician Assistant in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Preferred: 2 years of experience specifically in head and neck or otolaryngology with demonstrated procedural competencies
- Active DEA registration (or obtained within 2 months of hire)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- ONS and AOCNP certifications are desirable but not mandatory
