Engineering Program Manager
Invariant Corporation is seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Program Manager to join our dynamic team and support government clients in executing complex Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. As an Engineering Program Manager, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with Technical Leads and Subject Matter Experts to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale hardware development and production projects. This position requires a strategic leader who can effectively manage project milestones, budgets, schedules, and compliance requirements while fostering clear communication across stakeholders.
In this role, the Engineering Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive projects from conception to completion. You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating project risks, overseeing the allocation of resources, and ensuring strict adherence to government regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The Engineering Program Manager will also coordinate field data collection events, provide oversight to subcontractors, and support the creation of essential reports and briefings for government personnel.
As an Engineering Program Manager, you will contribute to the growth of our organization by identifying opportunities for new product and capability development that align with current programs. Your expertise will help expand our reach into new customer segments, mission areas, and acquisition programs. Engineering Program Manager - Summary
- Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, subject matter experts, and government customers for DoD initiatives.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex hardware development and production projects.
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant government regulations and standards.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment to drive project success.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work directly with Technical Leads and project teams to guide projects to completion, aligning with government specifications and standards.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks to minimize impacts on timelines and deliverables.
- Oversee project budgets for optimal resource allocation and cost-effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure on-time delivery of milestones.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other relevant government contracting regulations.
- Coordinate and plan field data collection events at multiple test ranges.
- Provide oversight and guidance to subcontractors regarding project priorities and tasks.
- Assist government personnel with report and briefing creation.
- Manage key vendor relationships and support in-house procurement processes for timely acquisitions.
- Facilitate effective communication among technical teams, vendors, and customers.
- Identify and pursue new product and capability development opportunities that complement existing programs.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience managing engineering projects and programs for Department of Defense customers.
- Proven experience managing hardware development contracts valued at $20M or more (firm fixed price).
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to successfully complete a background check.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active SECRET security clearance.
Ideal Candidate Snapshot
- Extensive knowledge of hardware design and integration, particularly related to aviation and missile systems.
- Over 15 years of experience managing complex engineering projects for government clients.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Jamis Prime.
- Master’s degree in Engineering is highly preferred.
- Active SECRET clearance is a significant asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
Other Relevant Information
- Work environments include office, laboratory, and field settings.
- Travel to customer locations, field tests, and meetings required approximately 10%-15% of the time.
