Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) - Summary
- Provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in the endoscopy department.
- Function as a clinician, educator, researcher, and leader to ensure the highest standards of nursing practice are achieved.
- Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal patient outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver and document patient care according to established clinical practice standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Direct and coordinate nursing care for endoscopy patients in accordance with the American Nursing Association (ANA) standards and state nursing regulations.
- Employ critical thinking, management, and problem-solving skills to prioritize and address patient needs efficiently.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve effective, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery.
- Integrate knowledge of patients’ age, cultural diversity, and individual preferences into care planning and delivery.
- Promote performance improvement initiatives to advance patient care quality and outcomes within the endoscopy setting.
- Serve as a resource for patient and family education regarding procedures and post-procedure care.
- Demonstrate leadership in professional development and support the education of colleagues and new staff.
- Uphold the code of ethics for nursing and adhere to all institutional, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing.
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in endoscopy nursing required.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, current for at least 90 days after hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for certain departments, current for at least 90 days after hire.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to utilize electronic medical record systems.
- Specialty certification in endoscopy or related field preferred.
- Willingness to complete competency assessments and department-specific orientation.
