As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the emergency department. The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) role demands excellent communication skills, as you will be required to coordinate with physicians, ancillary staff, patients, and their families. You will document patient care activities accurately, share critical information regarding diagnostic results and symptoms, and advocate for patients' needs at every stage of their emergency care journey. In addition, the ER RN must demonstrate keen attention to regulatory compliance, including EMTALA guidelines and mandatory reporting laws related to patient safety and abuse prevention.
This position requires current and valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), along with up-to-date certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Safety training such as BVP (MAB) is mandatory, and additional certifications such as NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and current COVID-19 vaccination or boosters are highly valued. The ER RN must consistently uphold all patient privacy standards as required by HIPAA and maintain a strong commitment to confidentiality in all aspects of patient care.
