Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) - Summary
- Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, responding to a diverse range of urgent and emergent health conditions
- Apply advanced nursing knowledge in trauma, cardiac, pediatric, psychiatric, and medical emergencies
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments and triage based on acuity level
- Administer medications, therapies, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient conditions, taking immediate action when necessary
- Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff
- Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record system
- Provide patient and family education regarding illness, treatment, and discharge planning
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized emergency department environment
- Participate in ongoing professional development and required training
- Comply with infection control and hospital safety standards
- Respond quickly and effectively to codes and emergency situations

Qualifications & Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- Minimum of two years of acute care or relevant nursing experience
- At least one year of travel nursing experience preferred
- Current certifications required: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), MAB/CPI with proof of hands-on training
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required and must be renewed annually
- Experience in a high-acuity care facility, preferably a Level II Trauma Center
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to care for patients across all age groups, from newborns to geriatric adults
