Optigy is seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) for a locum tenens, full-time position onsite in Carlinville, Illinois. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department in Carlinville, Illinois.
- Function independently in a facility with approximately 7,100 annual patient visits, delivering timely and accurate assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
- Work 24-hour physician shifts, with options for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 8 p.m. to 8 a.m., or 24-hour blocks, to ensure comprehensive coverage in the emergency department.
- Manage patients in an open ICU setting, with no on-call responsibilities required for this role, allowing focus on emergency care.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and allied health professionals to ensure effective communication and coordinated patient care.
- Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and best practices.
- Demonstrate adaptability and clinical expertise in responding to a broad range of emergency medical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Board-certified in Emergency Medicine (MD or DO). Physicians board-certified in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM) may also be considered, except for ABPS certification.
- Active Illinois medical license, with associated controlled substance license and a DEA registration listing an Illinois address.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required (often referred to as “merit badges”).
- Completion of continuing medical education (CME) within the past two years, with documentation available.
- Ability to provide copies of all relevant diplomas, training certifications, and a valid driver’s license during the credentialing process.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced emergency department.
