Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a broad range of urgent and emergent medical conditions in a hospital emergency department setting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, specialists, and ancillary personnel, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system in adherence to regulatory and hospital standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development as needed.
- Follow established protocols for patient safety, infection control, and emergency response.
- Maintain adaptability to varying shift schedules and departmental needs, including potential call coverage as determined by the site.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine
- Active and unrestricted Alabama medical license required
- Clean malpractice and background history preferred
- Current and valid national certification (such as ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, ABIM, as applicable)
- Compliance with all credentialing requirements, which may take up to 90 days (expedited for providers with a clean history)
- Demonstrated clinical competence and experience in emergency care settings
