Candidates for the Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) position must be board certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine and must have completed an ACGME or AOA-accredited residency program. An active Mississippi medical license and MS DEA certification are required. Recent active clinical practice within the past 12 months is preferred, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis by the Professional Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Medical Executive Committee (MEC).
In this role, the Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) will provide high-quality care, maintain accurate medical records, and collaborate closely with nursing and ancillary staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes. Leadership, communication skills, and a commitment to upholding hospital standards of excellence are essential for success in this locum tenens position. The shift structure includes daily overtime after 12 hours and weekly overtime after 168 hours, allowing for flexibility and potential for increased compensation.
