Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with emergent medical conditions.
- Stabilize and manage trauma, cardiac, neurological, and other acute medical emergencies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies and imaging.
- Initiate lifesaving interventions such as airway management, resuscitation, and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS).
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with consulting specialists, primary care providers, and hospital staff.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Supervise and support nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and medical students as appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to department protocols and regulatory standards.
- Provide compassionate education and communication to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM).
- Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in TX, or ability to obtain prior to assignment start.
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Demonstrated expertise in emergency medicine and acute care management.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to delivering evidence-based, patient-focused care in a fast-paced setting.
