The hospital's emergency department is equipped with 14 ED beds and handles approximately 30,000 patient visits annually. Physicians are supported by advanced practice providers (NP/PA) to maintain optimal patient care and flow. Shifts are structured as 12-hour rotations, with both day and night coverage (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM for MD/DOs), providing flexibility for candidates seeking locum or ongoing assignments. The assignment is ideal for those able to commit to at least five shifts per month, with a six-month engagement preferred. Travel and lodging expenses are covered, and malpractice insurance is provided, ensuring physicians can focus on delivering excellent care without administrative concerns.
To qualify for this Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) opportunity, candidates must hold an active Georgia medical license and be board certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (ABEM, AOBEM, ABFM, or ABIM). Additionally, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required. The emergency department utilizes the EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, and there is no on-call requirement for this position, allowing physicians to maintain a healthy work-life balance. All credentialing processes are expected to take approximately 60 days, and recent flu and PPD tests are required, with waivers considered where appropriate.
