The Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) will work in an emergency department with an annual patient volume of approximately 14,000, which equates to about 38 patients per day. The emergency department holds a Trauma Level III designation, ensuring a diverse and challenging caseload that will engage and utilize the physician’s expertise. The position includes 12-hour shifts, with coverage extending from 6 AM to 6 PM. There is additional support from nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the Fast Track area from 10 AM to 10 PM, enhancing patient flow and care efficiency.

This opportunity features a streamlined process with no on-call responsibilities, allowing physicians to focus exclusively on direct patient care during their scheduled shifts. Malpractice insurance, travel, and lodging are fully covered, reflecting Optigy’s commitment to supporting its clinical staff. The credentialing process is efficient, with an estimated timeframe of approximately 60 days, enabling a smooth transition for qualified candidates into the role.

Candidates for the Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) position must possess an active Louisiana medical license. Board Certification in Emergency Medicine is preferred; however, Board Eligible or Board Certified physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine who hold current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are also encouraged to apply. A minimum of two years of emergency medicine experience is required, ensuring that candidates bring a high level of competence and clinical judgment to this fast-paced environment.
