Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position OverviewOptigy is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, full-time, onsite role in Albany, NY. As an EM Physician, you will join a high-volume, fully equipped freestanding Emergency Department that operates 24/7, delivering comprehensive emergency care to the local community. The facility features state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, an onsite laboratory, advanced imaging services, and remote radiology reads to support high-quality patient care. This position offers a collaborative clinical environment and system-wide cross-credentialing, allowing for flexibility and continuity of care throughout the integrated health system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency medical care in a busy, full-service freestanding Emergency Department.
- Manage a diverse caseload, responding to both acute and non-acute patient needs.
- Utilize advanced diagnostics and the Epic EMR system to deliver efficient and effective care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nursing staff, allied health providers, and remote radiologists.
- Participate in cross-credentialing opportunities within the larger integrated health system for enhanced patient continuity.
- Adhere to established clinical protocols and maintain accurate, thorough documentation of all patient encounters.
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and participate in professional development programs.
- Work 8–9 hour shifts, with shift structures and maps available upon request.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Valid and unrestricted medical license, or eligibility for licensure in New York State.
- Strong clinical skills with proficiency in using EMR systems, preferably Epic.
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based emergency care.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- J-1 Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.
- Access to the National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB) for clinical support and guidance.
- 24/7/365 live physician support to assist with clinical and operational questions.
- Participation in professional development programs, including leadership, efficiency, and engagement academies.
