Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, full-time, onsite position in Muskogee, OK. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a well-supported, community-focused Emergency Department that operates as a Level III Trauma Center, serving as a regional hub across a seven-county area. The Emergency Medicine Physician will be part of a collaborative team, providing high-quality, patient-centered care in an environment fostering professional growth and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries.
- Stabilize and manage trauma and medical emergencies in a 21-bed Emergency Department with an annual volume of 35,000 visits.
- Work collaboratively with onsite specialty teams, including hospitalists, surgeons, orthopedists, critical care specialists, and urologists.
- Utilize Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system for patient documentation and care coordination.
- Participate in the care of patients meeting criteria for the Level III Trauma Center and Certified Primary Stroke Center designations.
- Admit approximately 18% of ED patients, coordinating with inpatient teams as appropriate.
- Comply with established protocols and evidence-based practices to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and hospital committees as required.
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Oklahoma.
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred but not required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- J-1 Visa Sponsorship and H1B Cap Exempt options are available for qualified candidates.
