Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Job OverviewOptigy is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a full-time, permanent, onsite opportunity at a modern, high-volume Emergency Department in Troy, NY. The facility is a 277-bed community hospital recognized as a Primary Stroke and STEMI Center and is part of a leading healthcare network in upstate New York.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic and treatment equipment, including Epic EMR, portable ultrasound machines, and an on-site radiology suite.
- Collaborate closely with hospitalist teams who manage all admissions, allowing for focused emergency care delivery.
- Work within a supportive interdisciplinary team including specialists and 24/7 interventional cath lab staff.
- Ensure clinical excellence in a designated STEMI and Primary Stroke Center with minimal patient transfer rates (1.5–2%).
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including leadership and efficiency training programs, as well as national clinical assemblies.
- Take advantage of cross-credentialing options at affiliated facilities within the healthcare network.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine best practices and compliance with hospital protocols.
- MD or DO degree with board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Eligible for medical licensure in New York State.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently while maintaining clinical excellence.
