Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position Overview
Optigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a full-time, permanent position at a modern, community-based emergency department in Tulsa, OK. This newly constructed, not-for-profit, 96-bed facility serves the fast-growing South Tulsa area and features a high-functioning emergency department with access to advanced diagnostics and comprehensive specialty support. Physicians will be part of a collaborative team, practicing in an environment that values high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a high-volume emergency department (approx. 30,000 annual visits).
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, including other board-certified Emergency Medicine Physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and ACLS-certified nursing staff.
- Utilize a full-service emergency department model, including 21 ED beds, 4 fast-track rooms, 3 trauma rooms, and dedicated triage bays.
- Leverage advanced EMR technology (Epic with voice recognition charting) for efficient documentation and patient management.
- Coordinate care with on-call hospitalists and a wide range of specialists such as general surgery, urology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, hand surgery, anesthesiology, cardiology, pulmonology, and nephrology.
- Participate in a structured physician shift model (3 physician shifts + 2 APP shifts daily with overlap), supporting a safe and effective patient flow.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities and participate in clinical governance initiatives.
- Ensure safe transfer of patients to a nearby tertiary care center within the same health system when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with all clinical and legal standards, including accurate, timely documentation and adherence to facility protocols.
Qualifications
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Oklahoma.
- J-1 Visa sponsorship and H1B cap exemption available for qualifying candidates.
- Strong clinical skills with a commitment to delivering evidence-based emergency care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
