Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Position Overview
Optigy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, full-time opportunity. This role is based onsite at a modern, community-based emergency department in Tulsa, OK. The facility is a 96-bed not-for-profit hospital that supports a high-functioning emergency department, offering a collaborative and high-quality environment for clinicians. The emergency department is equipped with advanced diagnostics and exceptional on-call specialty access, making it an ideal setting for emergency medicine professionals who value teamwork and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a high-volume emergency department, averaging 30,000 annual visits.
- Work within a fully staffed team of board-certified Emergency Medicine physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and ACLS-certified nursing staff.
- Utilize a full-service model with advanced tools such as Sonosite ultrasound and GlideScope for patient assessment and procedures.
- Document all patient encounters using Epic electronic medical record (EMR) with voice recognition charting to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with on-call specialists in hospital medicine, general surgery, urology, OB/GYN, orthopedics, hand surgery, anesthesia, cardiology, pulmonology, and nephrology to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in a staffing model that includes three physician shifts and two APP shifts daily, with overlapping coverage to optimize patient flow and care quality.
- Respond to emergent situations in trauma rooms, fast-track areas, triage bays, and dedicated “results pending” spaces.
- Coordinate patient transfers to a nearby tertiary care center within the same health system as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through structured programs and support from a national clinical governance board.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine is required.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Oklahoma.
- J-1 Visa sponsorship and H1B cap-exempt status are available for qualified candidates.
- Strong clinical skills in emergency care, trauma, and acute patient management.
