Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) Job OverviewOptigy is currently seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician (EM Physician) for a permanent, onsite opportunity in Arcadia, Florida. This full-time, 1099 contract position offers a rewarding chance to join a well-supported emergency department serving the Arcadia, FL community. The facility is equipped with 15 dedicated emergency department beds and manages approximately 15,000 patient visits annually, providing a balanced and manageable patient volume for physicians. Arcadia, known for its welcoming community and central Florida location, offers a positive practice environment with strong team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Work alongside a skilled team of advanced practice providers (APPs), nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in 12-hour rotating shifts, with available shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., ensuring consistent physician coverage.
- Utilize the Meditech electronic medical record (EMR) system to accurately document patient encounters and coordinate care.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary setting to maintain high standards of emergency care and patient safety.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and adhere to best practices within emergency medicine.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine through ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine) or AOBEM (American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine).
- Applicants with Family Practice or Internal Medicine backgrounds and a minimum of two years of recent emergency medicine experience will also be considered.
- Active Florida medical license is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented emergency department environment.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Meditech, is a plus.
