Optigy is seeking a dedicated and motivated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) to join a collaborative and high-performing emergency department team. This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for physicians board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with proven emergency medicine experience. The position is based on-site in San Antonio, TX, and offers a dynamic environment with a strong focus on quality patient care, efficiency, and professional development.
Our emergency department manages approximately 14,000 patient visits annually, supported by a well-coordinated team and advanced resources. With 9 emergency department beds and 6 inpatient beds, this setting is designed to optimize workflow, patient outcomes, and physician support. Physicians work twelve-hour shifts, ensuring comprehensive 24-hour medical coverage every day, and are further supported by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).

Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a 9-bed emergency department, working collaboratively with nursing and APP staff
- Manage acute and emergent medical conditions, ensuring timely, evidence-based interventions
- Utilize electronic documentation systems (Picis) for accurate, comprehensive clinical records
- Participate in 12-hour shifts to provide 24/7 physician coverage for emergency services
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient admissions (with a 5% admission rate) and transitions of care
- Engage in ongoing professional development through access to national training and leadership programs
- Contribute to department quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited residency in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, or in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine with emergency experience
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain)
- Current certifications in ATLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Demonstrated proficiency in emergency department clinical workflows and electronic documentation
- Commitment to ongoing education and quality improvement
