Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) to join a dynamic emergency department team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is located in San Antonio, TX, and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes quality care, efficiency, and teamwork. Physicians who are board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with emergency medicine experience are encouraged to apply. The Emergency Department manages approximately 14,000 patient visits annually, providing care in a setting designed for both patient comfort and provider efficiency.
Responsibilities- Provide high-quality and timely medical care to all patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Work collaboratively with advanced practice providers and other members of the healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
- Utilize Picis documentation system to accurately record patient encounters and treatment plans.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education opportunities offered by the organization.
- Manage a variety of emergencies, with an average admission rate of 5% and support from a 9-bed emergency department and 6 inpatient beds.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and standards of care.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in interactions with patients, families, and clinical staff.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Emergency Medicine (EM), Family Medicine (FM), or Internal Medicine (IM) with emergency medicine experience.
- Current certifications in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Strong clinical decision-making abilities and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Eligibility for J-1 Visa candidates is available for this Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) role.
