Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) – Full-Time
Optigy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) to join a micro-hospital team on the southwest side of San Antonio, TX. This full-time, permanent opportunity is ideal for physicians who are board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine with significant emergency medicine experience. As a vital member of the emergency department, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive, 24/7 inpatient and emergency care to the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care to a diverse patient population in a 15-bed emergency department, handling approximately 27,000 annual visits.
- Work twelve-hour shifts, ensuring 24-hour physician coverage daily, supported by advanced practice providers (APPs).
- Manage and coordinate care for patients requiring admission to the hospital's 8 inpatient beds.
- Utilize Picis documentation system for accurate and efficient patient record-keeping.
- Collaborate closely with nursing, radiology, and ancillary teams to provide optimal patient outcomes.
- Leverage access to 24/7 in-house X-ray and CT services, as well as 24/7 radiology readings and on-call ultrasound support.
- Participate in continuous quality and process improvement initiatives within the emergency department.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM), or in Family Medicine (FP) or Internal Medicine (IM) with demonstrated emergency medicine experience.
- Current and valid certifications in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
