Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) – Full-Time Position OverviewOptigy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM/FP/IM) for a full-time, onsite role at a micro-hospital on the southwest side of San Antonio, TX. The facility provides comprehensive inpatient and 24/7 emergency care, serving a diverse patient population. This position is open to physicians trained in Emergency Medicine, as well as those with a primary care background (Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) who possess emergency medicine experience. The role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic emergency department equipped with advanced resources and strong clinical support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions.
- Work 12-hour shifts with 24-hour physician coverage each day, supported by Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
- Utilize the Picis documentation system to accurately chart patient encounters and clinical interventions.
- Manage patient flow in a 15-bed emergency department with approximately 27,000 annual visits.
- Oversee care in 8 inpatient beds, coordinating seamlessly with hospital staff and specialists as needed.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through access to leading programs such as Leadership Training, Efficiency Academy, and Engagement & Experience Academy.
- Participate in the hospital’s annual Clinical Assembly and benefit from 24/7/365 live physician support.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (EM), Family Medicine (FP), or Internal Medicine (IM) with relevant emergency experience.
- Active certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Proficiency in emergency care procedures and protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for effective teamwork and patient care.
- 24/7 in-house X-ray and CT imaging capabilities.
- Continuous radiology reads available for all imaging modalities.
- 24/7 ultrasound support on-call.
- Access to a National Clinical Governance Board (NCGB) for clinical guidance and oversight.
- Opportunities to participate in an internal traveling physician program.
