Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM, IM, FM) - Full-Time in Greenwood, MI
We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at a well-established acute care hospital in Greenwood, MI. This is a full-time opportunity for a board-certified or board-eligible physician in Emergency Medicine (EM), American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (IM), or Family Medicine (FM) with a focus on emergency care. The role involves providing comprehensive emergency medical services in a dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring the highest quality of care for patients presenting with a variety of urgent medical needs.
As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will collaborate closely with a skilled support staff and multiple Emergency Department physicians to deliver effective and efficient care in a 25-bed acute care facility. The facility is recognized as a Level IV Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center, offering a fast-paced setting with an average of 61 visits per day and approximately 22,400 emergency department visits annually. The hospital is equipped with 15 treatment beds and eight fast-track beds, and features dedicated X-ray and laboratory services to support timely diagnosis and treatment.
This position requires the ability to cover a minimum of five shifts per month, with flexible scheduling options including both day and night shifts (7 am – 7 pm, 7 pm – 7 am). The hospital utilizes the EPIC electronic medical record system to ensure seamless patient documentation and care coordination. Although the ICU and labor-and-delivery units are currently closed, the Emergency Department is fully operational and supported by a robust clinical team.
The Emergency Medicine Physician will be expected to perform all standard emergency room procedures and manage a diverse patient population with a range of acute and chronic conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer, stroke, and kidney disease. Board certification is required, and candidates must hold an active Michigan state medical license or a compact license, along with an active DEA license (or willingness to transfer). Additional certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are mandatory.
