Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM, ABIM, ABFM) - Summary
- Provide acute care to patients presenting to the emergency department at a critical access hospital
- Work flexible day or night shifts as part of an ongoing locum tenens assignment
- Utilize advanced clinical expertise and board certification to deliver evidence-based care
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and access specialty backup as needed
- Serve a diverse patient population and contribute to community health outcomes
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, stabilize, and manage patients with emergent medical, surgical, and traumatic conditions
- Perform all standard emergency room procedures in accordance with current best practices
- Document all patient encounters accurately using T System EV EMR
- Coordinate with on-call specialty backup including OB/GYN, Cardiology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics
- Participate in expedited onboarding and credentialing processes to ensure timely start
- Collaborate with EMS personnel and facilitate patient transfers as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), or Family Medicine (ABFM) with a minimum of 2 years of emergency room experience
- Active state medical license
- Active DEA registration or willingness to transfer credentials as needed
- Current certifications in ATLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Proficiency in performing all standard emergency room procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (T System EV preferred)
