Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM, ABIM, ABFM) - Summary
- Full-time position for a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM, ABIM, ABFM) in a hospital setting.
- Provide comprehensive emergency care to a medium-acuity patient population.
- Opportunity for immediate start with expedited onboarding and credentialing process.
- Position is based in a community hospital, featuring a Level 3 trauma center and a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered emergency medical care in an acute hospital environment.
- Manage a diverse range of patient presentations in a 45-bed emergency department with approximately 40,000 annual visits.
- Perform all standard emergency room procedures in accordance with hospital protocols and best practices.
- Work closely with advanced practice providers (NPPA) and utilize backup specialty services such as surgery, neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, and OB/GYN.
- Participate in a rotating shift schedule, providing coverage for 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a), ensuring continuous care for patients.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation and patient management.
- Collaborate with EMS teams, with approximately 33% of ED arrivals via EMS, and support a team-oriented approach to patient care.
- Admit, observe, or transfer patients as clinically indicated, with a 30% admit/obs rate and 3.1% transfer rate.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine (ABIM), or Family Medicine (ABFM) with at least two years of emergency room experience.
- Active state medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- Active DEA registration in the state or willingness to transfer credentials as required.
- Current certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Experience using EPIC EMR is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced emergency care environment.
