We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM) to join our dynamic team at a critical access hospital. The physician will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality emergency care at a Level 4 trauma center, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients experiencing acute medical conditions. The hospital features 6 emergency department beds, 2 fast-track beds, and 4 intensive care unit beds, managing an annual emergency department volume of approximately 6,800 visits. Physicians are supported around the clock, with additional NPA (Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice) shift coverage during peak hours. The role requires proficiency in all standard emergency medicine procedures and the use of Cerner EMR for documentation and patient management. Candidates must hold an active state license, a current DEA license, and be certified in ATLS, ACLS, and PALS. The hospital provides travel accommodations for candidates commuting to the facility and offers expedited onboarding for qualified applicants, enabling a prompt and smooth transition into the team.
Emergency Medicine Physician (EM, ABEM) - Summary
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a critical access hospital setting.
- Work in a Level 4 trauma center with an annual ED volume of approximately 6,800 visits.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
- Engage in a flexible shift schedule, including both day and night shifts, to ensure 24-hour physician coverage.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform all standard emergency room procedures, ensuring the highest standard of care for all patients presenting to the ED.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat urgent and emergent medical conditions in patients of all ages.
- Document patient encounters and clinical findings thoroughly and accurately using the Cerner EMR system.
- Participate in collaborative care with NPA staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, evidence-based practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and effective credentialing and onboarding processes for rapid integration into the clinical team.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine (ABIM/ABFM) required.
- Active state medical license and DEA registration, or willingness to transfer credentials.
- Current certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard ER procedures and use of Cerner EMR.
- Availability to cover at least 3 shifts per month, with a preference for candidates able to cover 10-12 shifts monthly.
