Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) - Summary
- Full-time locum tenens position at a reputable facility in Whiteville, North Carolina
- Start date: October 1, 2025, to fill a full-time physician vacancy

- Collaborate with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs)
- Work within an established emergency department, providing acute care to a diverse patient population
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based emergency medical care to patients of all ages presenting with acute illnesses or injuries
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examination, diagnostic testing, and interpretation of results
- Provide resuscitation and stabilization for critically ill and injured individuals
- Initiate and manage appropriate therapeutic interventions, including procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and wound care
- Collaborate with nursing staff, APPs, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate dispositions
- Document all clinical findings, treatments, and patient interactions comprehensively and accurately
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and clinical best practices
- Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing education and training
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage of $269 per hour for Emergency Medicine Physician (EM) shifts
- Eligibility for overtime compensation after 12 hours daily or 168 hours weekly

Qualifications & Requirements
- MD or DO degree with board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine (ABPS/AAPS accepted)
- If not ABEM-certified, current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certifications are required
- Proof of compliance with all regulatory documentation including recent flu vaccination, PPD screening, immunization records, certificate of insurance, CME records (from the past 2 years), medical diplomas, and a professional photograph
- Demonstrated clinical competence in emergency medicine and acute patient management
- Strong commitment to excellence in patient care, teamwork, and communication
